Home-made Paneer

Serves: 2 Preparation time: Overnight

 

Ingredients:
Milk – 1 litre
Vinegar/lemon juice – 2-3 tbsp

Procedure:

  1. Boil milk, remove from heat and immediately add vinegar/ lemon juice to it.
  2. You will see that the water separates from the milk solids.
  3. Line a sieve with cheese (muslin) cloth or a clean kerchief.
  4. Pour the liquid over it so that the solids separate from the liquid.
  5. Let it drain for about 30 minutes.
  6. Then wrap the cloth tightly around the paneer and place a heavy weight over it.
  7. Leave it overnight with a vessel underneath to catch any drippings.
  8. Remove the cloth from paneer and refrigerate.
