Mango Banana cooler

My mango banana cooler or smoothie is my summer savior 😀 The summer is really unbearable for me this year and no matter how much buttermilk and juices I sip, I am unable to beat the heat. My refrigerator is packed with lots of buttermilk and curd and still I am always looking for other juicy and fruity summer drinks to bear the heat 🙂

Yesterday I had apple milk shake for a healthy breakfast (sorry did not click them 🙁 so couldn’t post the recipe) and today it was time for my Mango banana cooler to go with my lunch. This is a super quick recipe, just 3 ingredients and blend them, it tastes awesome!! 😀 I do not have a smoothie maker, so I rely on my mixer jar to make my juices too. Also, smoothies normally have milk in them, but I did not add any milk in my recipe though the texture turns out like one of smoothie’s.

I get many requests to post healthy snacks for kids, and this recipe is definitely one on that list. You can give this to your kids when they are back from school and they will surely go crazy over this.

You can check my other summer recipes here.

Makes: 1 Glass Preparation time: 5 mins

Ingredients

Ripe mango – 1 (peeled and cut into chunks, may use juicy ones too in which case squeeze the pulp)

Ripe banana – 1 (diced, if not using ripe that may have to add sugar)

Ice cubes – 6 (may use milk or water instead)

Procedure:

  1. In a blender, add the mango, banana and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Pour into serving glasses and chill for atleast 1 hour. Serve chilled.
  3. You may garnish with either banana or mango pieces, cream or even ice cream on top.
  4. You may use milk instead of ice cubes, but I prefer to get the actual fruits taste and like the creamy texture.Mango banana cooler
